  • Help individuals with shopping, budgeting, managing finances, and other administrative tasks
  • Provide emotional support by listening to concerns, discussing feelings, and offering reassurance
  • Accompany service users on activities and outings such as day trips, social events, and community participation
  • Assist with medication management including administration and reminders according to prescribed schedules
  • Support attendance at medical appointments and collaborate with healthcare professionals
  • Monitor mental health and wellbeing of service users and report any significant changes
  • Teach and develop independent living skills such as using public transport, cooking, and self-care
  • Create and maintain support plans that document service user needs, goals, and progress
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation including daily records and incident reports
  • Facilitate communication for service users with communication difficulties using appropriate methods
  • Support service users with mobility and transferring activities to promote independence
  • Encourage service users to achieve personal goals and respect their independent choices

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Compassionate and caring personality with genuine desire to help others
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong interpersonal and social skills to interact with diverse individuals

  • Good listening skills and ability to provide emotional support

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Qualifications in Health & Social Care (NVQ Level 2 or 3, BTEC, T-Level, or diploma)
  • Previous experience in social care, healthcare, or support work settings
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Working with Children/Vulnerable People check (for roles supporting children)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check or equivalent state-based checks
  • Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module or similar training
  • Full UK or relevant driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Knowledge of Makaton, sign language, or alternative communication methods
  • Training in autism awareness, mental health, dementia care, or learning disabilities
  • Understanding of relevant policies including Mental Capacity Act and safeguarding procedures
  • Experience with manual handling techniques and moving and handling equipment
  • Knowledge of medication administration procedures
  • Personal experience with individuals with disabilities or complex care needs
  • Basic IT skills including Microsoft Office and care management systems
