Objectives
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations including interviews, medical histories, physical exams, observations, and psychological testing
- Order and perform medical laboratory and psychological tests to provide a comprehensive picture of patients' physical and mental state
- Analyze assessment data and results to make accurate diagnoses based on DSM-5 criteria
- Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific needs and conditions
- Prescribe and administer psychiatric medications according to diagnosis and monitor effectiveness

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited medical school
- Completion of a four-year psychiatry residency program
- Current and valid board certification in psychiatry from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
- Valid state medical license to practice medicine in the state of practice
- Current DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances
- Comprehensive knowledge of DSM-5 criteria for diagnosing mental disorders
- Strong understanding of psychiatric medications, their mechanisms of action, and potential side effects
