Responsibilities

  • Prepare meats and seafood by trimming, cutting, and marinating as instructed
  • Prepare sauces, soups, salad dressings, and other recipe components in advance
  • Label and stock all ingredients properly in designated storage areas
  • Check stock levels and monitor ingredient inventory throughout shifts
  • Receive deliveries and ensure proper storage to maintain ingredient freshness
  • Organize and rotate stock following First In First Out (FIFO) principles
  • Clean and sanitize prep stations, work surfaces, and kitchen equipment before and after use
  • Maintain organized walk-in refrigerators and dry storage areas
  • Fill line cook stations with prepared ingredients before service
  • Assist chefs during service by fetching ingredients and performing additional tasks as needed
  • Wash dishes and clean cooking utensils and cookware when required
  • Communicate with kitchen team members to relay information and coordinate tasks
  • Follow prep lists created by chefs to complete tasks in proper order and on time
  • Report ingredient shortages or quality issues to chefs or kitchen managers
