Responsibilities

  • Prepare meal ingredients by washing, peeling, cutting, chopping, and slicing vegetables, fruits, and other food items as directed by cooks
  • Wash, dry, and put away all dishes, utensils, cooking instruments, cutting boards, and kitchen equipment
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen work surfaces, equipment, floors, walls, and food preparation areas regularly throughout shifts
  • Assist kitchen staff in unloading food supplies and deliveries from trucks and properly store items according to food safety standards
  • Maintain inventory by stocking and organizing ingredients, supplies, and equipment in designated storage areas
  • Remove garbage, replace garbage bags, and clean garbage cans to maintain a hygienic kitchen environment
  • Pack takeout orders and assist with plating dishes during busy meal service periods
  • Clear and clean tables for waitstaff when necessary and refill condiments or supplies at tables
  • Set up and clean workstations before and after service to ensure readiness for kitchen operations
  • Monitor and remove expired or spoiled ingredients from refrigerators, freezers, and stockrooms
  • Follow all food safety, health, and sanitation regulations and procedures consistently
  • Assist with opening and closing duties according to established checklists

Required Skills & Qualifications
