Responsibilities

  • Design and implement electrical systems for buildings, transportation networks, and power distribution infrastructure
  • Perform detailed calculations to develop manufacturing standards, installation specifications, and operational designs for electrical systems

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) license with ability to obtain PE licensure
  • 2-3 years of relevant electrical engineering work experience, including internships or cooperative education programs
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals, principles, and practices
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes, safety standards, and regulations (IEEE, IEC, NEC)
  • Proficiency in electrical design and calculation software such as ETAP, SKM, or AutoCAD Electrical
  • Experience with computer-assisted design (CAD) and engineering software applications
  • Advanced mathematical skills including calculus and ability to perform complex engineering calculations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address technical challenges
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and stakeholder interaction
  • Proven attention to detail and thoroughness in design and testing processes
  • Technical project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of electrical circuits, electromagnetics, signal processing, and digital systems

  • 15+ years of experience for chief or lead electrical engineer roles
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) certification
  • Additional certifications from professional organizations such as IEEE
  • Prior experience as an electrician or electrical technician
  • Experience with renewable energy systems including solar, wind, and hydropower
