Responsibilities

  • Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors of various types
  • Dust ceilings, light fittings, countertops, furniture, and loose fixtures
  • Scrub and sanitize toilets, sinks, and kitchen fixtures
  • Clean and disinfect restrooms, including all surfaces and fixtures
  • Empty trash cans and replace liners
  • Dispose of waste in accordance with recycling and waste management guidelines
  • Wash and dry windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces
  • Remove stains from various surfaces
  • Clean and wipe down high-touch surfaces such as countertops, tables, and door handles
  • Replenish supplies such as toilet paper, hand soap, paper towels, and cleaning products
  • Vacuum and shampoo carpets and upholstered furniture as needed
  • Wax, buff, and polish hard floors
  • Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, steam cleaners, and carpet cleaners
  • Ensure outside walkways remain clear and free of debris
  • Mix and dispose of cleaning solutions appropriately and safely
  • Follow workplace health and safety rules and protocols
  • Report any breakages, maintenance issues, or repair needs to the line manager or supervisor
  • Liaise with management to ensure sufficient cleaning supplies are available at all times
  • Accurately log completed tasks and working hours
  • Provide excellent customer service and handle client inquiries or complaints professionally
  • Work independently or as part of a team to complete assigned tasks
  • Ensure all cleaning equipment and supplies are stored safely and securely

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is advantageous
  • Proven experience in a similar cleaning or janitorial role
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and proper usage techniques
  • Ability to read and interpret Material Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
  • Ability to use a variety of cleaning products and equipment safely and effectively
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, and steam cleaners
  • Physical stamina and strength to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, and lift repeatedly during working hours
  • Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery used in cleaning
  • Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to complete tasks on time with minimal supervision
  • Reliable, punctual, and dependable with a strong work ethic
  • Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Available to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and flexible schedules as needed
