Responsibilities

  • Oversee all cash management, investments, insurance, budgeting, and financial reporting activities across the organization
  • Develop and coordinate annual operating budgets, capital budgets, and program budgets, including ongoing monitoring and reporting
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, recording, reporting, and internal control activities to ensure cash flow aligns with operational needs
  • Lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A) activities, including forecasting, scenario modeling, and performance tracking
  • Prepare and present detailed financial reports for earnings calls, board meetings, executive management, and stakeholders
  • Conduct risk management analysis of company liabilities and investments, evaluating and managing capital structure
  • Research revenue opportunities and economic trends, analyze internal operations, and identify areas for cost reduction and process improvement
  • Manage capital raising initiatives, including negotiating with investors, banks, and financial institutions for debt and equity financing
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations from entities such as FASB, IRS, and state regulatory bodies
  • Oversee HR operations by coordinating with external service providers for payroll, benefits, and recruitment
  • Lead and mentor finance personnel while overseeing financial IT systems and ensuring data integrity
  • Partner with senior managers to develop budget proposals, provide financial information access, and ensure contract and grant compliance
  • Evaluate and participate in mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate actions as needed
  • Maintain and enhance relationships with financial partners, including investors, auditors, and public officials

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in financial management roles
  • At least 5 years of experience in an executive financial leadership position (CFO or equivalent)
  • Deep expertise in corporate finance, accounting principles (GAAP), and financial reporting standards
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning processes
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful financial strategies aligned with business goals
  • Experience managing financial compliance, regulatory requirements, and internal controls
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable strategic recommendations
  • Exceptional leadership skills with experience building and managing high-performing finance teams
  • Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency in financial software systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong business acumen with ability to understand operations across the entire organization

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Finance, or Accounting
  • Professional accounting designation such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CMA (Certified Management Accountant), or CIMA
  • Advanced professional certifications such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
  • Experience in capital raising beyond traditional lines of credit, including equity and debt issuances
  • Background in mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence and integration activities
